What a glorious time I had DJing in the foyer of the Sloane Square Hotel for a few days during Chelsea in Bloom! The fabulous Miami inspired floral display out the front brought visitors flocking to take photos and my music and records brought them inside to enjoy the vibe and sit down for a cocktail or stay up for a dance! The hotel won Bronze for their display which was very deserved!

I had the pleasure of spinning the best disco tracks for the Disco Head Dancers from Dc² Entertainment & Dance Co who were dancing outside the front of the Hotel, which inspired the whole team to delight the crowd with the YMCA dance and what a giggle it was! Watch whole video below…

I have to boast about the team at Sloane Square Hotel and The Knox, the bar downstairs where I DJ regularly. They are such a great bunch of people and a lot of fun, as you can see from the entertaining YMCA video, and I love working with them. Here’s a few of them, from Heather the MD of Sloane Square Hotel and Fab, Manager of The Knox, to Stuart and his lovely Front of House Staff who literally can’t do enough for everyone. Here they are loving their jobs….

And here’s a few more pics of the guests and visitors who popped in, and joined in, with Select & Spin, choosing a great soundtrack for the event. If this doesn’t make you want to come to London for the Flower Show and Chelsea in Bloom, then I don’t know what will! Hope to see you there next year and consider booking a room at Sloane Square Hotel! Check out these happy people…

Good to be back at Control Room B

Look at those original contols, so cool, you should visit!

How cool it was to be back in Control Room B at Battersea Power Station soon for another launch event, this time for Heartcore Pilates, who have now opened a new studio there. It was fab night, there were so many lovely, healthy people there which created such a nice vibe, that and the music of course! Here are a few photos (including me with my 16 yr old Milo, who helped me set up, he’s my Rookie Roadie!) but I also made a short Reel for Instagram which you can watch here!

I had a great time DJing for my client Helen at her absolutely fabulous 50th Birthday Party! The venue was the rather lovely Badgemore Park Private Golf Club near Henley, on a glorious early April evening. I have to say, Helen’s friends were lovely and a lot of fun. They had a great time selecting records from my Select & Spin boxes and chose the best soundtrack for the night! But then, 50th Birthday Parties are always good fun, these people know how to party!

“Jen thank you for last night! Everyone loved it, especially me!” ~ Helen, the Birthday Girl

Post set up sound check!

I was delighted to bring my beloved Technics & Vinyl for another “Select & Spin”, to help celebrate George & Lydia’s wedding the grounds of Lydia’s parents’ beautiful home in yet another stunning @boutiquemarquees and it was an absolute pleasure working with Jules from @moseandweddings, what a star she is. And what a beautiful couple!

It’s such a great way to break the ice and get the party started early, so tactile, interactive and great fun! They were an awesome bunch who got into the spirit, choosing their favourite tracks from my nostalgic and retro collection of records. Thank you lovely people, you rocked!

“Thank you so much for Saturday Jen! You were amazing and so much fun, everyone loved you!” ~ Lydia, Bride

Here are some, lots, of photos from a great day and scroll right down to watch the Reel…

I had the absolute pleasure of doing my very first “Select & Spin'“ for Ruairi and Emily at their spectacular Wedding in Oxfordshire.

If Carlsberg did weddings, well Antonia from @honour_and_pop smashed it for the adorable couple Ruairi & Emily. I’m so glad they found me to DJ for them and inspire the new concept of “Select & Spin”. It was a glorious wedding and the best fun I’ve had at a wedding since my own!

So many of their lovely, interesting, incredibly friendly guests got into the spirit and I had a great time chatting about the vinyl with them, in fact, the music nearly ran out a couple of times, I was so distracted! The venue a luxurious @boutiquemarquees in a field near Emily’s family home.

“You were really really amazing yesterday, thank you so much! Exactly what we were after!” ~ Ruairi Keeley, Groom

“Jen exceeded all expectations, delivering an unforgettable afternoon of musical joy, with every track handpicked by the guests. No one wanted it to end, and everyone was asking for more!” ~ Antonia Roskill, Honour & Pop, Wedding & Party Planner

Some of the standout tracks requested ranged from Tina Turner “Private Dancer”, Michael Jackson “Billie Jean”, The Specials “A Message to you Rudy” (Emily’s Dad!), Dire Straits “Romeo & Juliet”, Neil Diamond “Sweet Caroline”, Luther Vandross “Never Too Late”, The Gap Band “Oops Upside Your Head” and Bruce Springsteen “Glory Days”. So much fun because I wouldn’t normally get to play that mix on a normal night!

Here’s an album of pics from the day and right at the bottom a link to the Reel!
